Be part of a Criunniú na Cásca magical mystery tour discovering creative Longford – celebrate its history, heritage, dance, music and art. The day will begin at Connolly Barracks located in the historic heart of Longford town. Buses will then depart for cultural venues around the county including: the Anglo-Norman motte-and-bailey castle Granard; the birthplace of writer Maria Edgeworth; Shawbrook, a haven for dance on a traditional eighteenth-century farm in a forest of oak, ash and beech trees; and ending the day with the best of Irish music around the fire at The Haggard, a unique venue set around a thatched cottage in Moyne, north Longford.
