Lumad nga Bisaya Ireland and the MRCI (Migrant Rights Centre Ireland) Dancers will be performing native traditional dances for Cruinniú na Cásca.
‘Sinulog’ is a dance ritual in honour of the miraculous image of Santo Niño. The dance moves to the sound of the drums which resembles a river’s current.
‘Pandanggo Sa Ilaw’, which translates as ‘Dance of Lights’, is a waltz-style, playful folk dance that showcases a unique fusion of local and western indigenous dance forms. Originating in Lubang Island, Mindoro, in the Philippines, it is usually performed during festivities and special occasions.
